Detcting Sponsor segments in YT videos using Neural Networks.
Details:Detecting sponsor segment in YouTube videos using captions by applying Natural Language Processing and neural networks. To correctly distinguish between sponsor and non-sponsor segment of a video. My approach was to get YouTube videos having English captions and get its corresponding sponsor timestamp from the crowdsourced SponsorBlock API and thus download the captions, label the captions which appear between the sponsor timestamp as Sponsor and remaining as Not Sponsor and thus make a dataset.
This approach would eventually aid in constructing an algorithm for blocking/removing sponsored segments from the view. Out of almost 3.6 Million videos from the public sponsor timestamp database, I picked random 290k videos and then tried to iterate through those videos links and checked for captions. The neural net used was Distil BERT. Implemented Distil BERT transformers model from huggng face, trained it on the custom dataset and achieved 94% accuracy.
Restaurant Management System
Details:A complete solution to a restaurant’s software needs like an admin panel to edit the menu and total sales for the day/month, customer panel to help the customer order and kitchen panel to sort out the orders with a proper GUI & implemented using only Linked Lists.
Made GUI for the same using QT. The project was a part of Data Structures Course.
Youtube Spam Comments
Details:Our aim was to devise a fastest and most accurate method for distinguishing the comments on
YouTube as Spam and Ham i.e. comments those are spam and not-spam. This approach would aid
in constructing an algorithm for blocking/removing inadmissible and undesirable comments
from the view.
The generic algorithms designed to distinguish spam and ham in emails,SMS or on other social
media sites(which are designed to classify content based on occuernce of selected spam
keywords) will fail in identifying spam in YouTube, because in other social media sites and
emails, generally spams are generated by Bots.
On the other hand, spam in YouTube is usually created by actual users to self-promote and market their brands or propagating malicious links and websites to hack the accounts. So method proposed cannot be applied as spam content might look similar to the authentic comments, for example: Links of the most famous or most watched videos of an artist/music album will be shared in other related videos too and such comments cannot be tagged as Spam Comment. Our slightly tweaked flavour of SVM gives the best accuracy of 94.13%. Random forest gives a good accuracy score of 93.87% which is close to that of SVM.
Implementing D Hash Algorithm.
Details:To find similar images, computing hashes and comparing it with other hashes is more faster than computing the differnce of pixels between test image and other images. D hash is an image hashing algorithm based on hashing the image data we get after finding the gradient intensity difference.
Normally in hashing algorithms we are required to generate hashes as unique as possible, but in this case we have to tweak and do the reverse as, we waant to generate similar matching hashes for perceptually similar images. Using this type of algorithm does not violate users' privacy because the algorithm only detects matching hashes and does not 'see' any images which don't match the hash. Hash values are also not reversible, so cannot be used to recreate an image.
